Yoga Legacy Instructors
All Yoga Legacy instructors are registered with the Yoga Alliance with a minimum RYT200 or combination RYT/E-RYT status.
Charley has been practicing yoga for over eight years. She began her yoga practice for the physical benefits, but soon realized the many other emotional, psychological, and spiritual benefits as well. After seeing the positive impact yoga had on her own quality of life, she began yoga teacher training with the desire to spread that joy to others. She is a RYT with specialty certifications in hot and detox yoga. Charley presently teaches gentle yoga, vinyasa, and open community classes in Greenville. She has also begun learning about and teaching children’s yoga.
Corrin has been practicing yoga on and off for years but was really drawn to it when she had an injury that was only helped by yoga. At that time she really jumped into her own practice and then decided to start yoga teacher training to try to help others. Corrin is an RYT and completed her training with Yoga Legacy. She has specialty certifications in Detox, Senior and Children’s Yoga. Corrin has seen how transformative yoga can be and is passionate about sharing it with others, especially children.
Heidi is a Yoga and Group Fitness Instructor who completed her yoga training with Yoga Legacy. She brought Yoga into her life about 10 years ago to complement her weight-lifting classes.. Heidi believes that Yoga is a unique practice that builds strength, flexibility, balance and renewal. She currently teaches Dynamic Flow, Detox Yoga and Yoga Stretch, with specialty certifications in Hot, Chair, and Water Yoga. Heidi is an ERYT.
Janhavi, who practiced yoga on a daily basis during her childhood, has come to find a deeper understanding, appreciation, and necessity for yoga in today’s world. She teaches Pilates and specialty yoga classes such as Children’s Yoga, Yoga for Athletes, Senior Yoga (both mat and chair-based), as well as Prenatal and Mommy & Baby Yoga. Janhavi finds yoga to be the common link in all aspects of day-to-day life — physical fitness, emotional well-being, and balanced diet — and wishes to pass on the beneficial effects of relaxation. She is an RYT.
Janice has been practicing yoga on and off for years, but was really drawn to it during her first pregnancy. When she decided to become a stay-at-home mom, she really delved into her own practice and went through yoga teacher training to try to reach out to others. She teaches Yoga Flow, Yoga Stretch, and Water (Aqua) Yoga with specialty certifications in Detox, Chair, and Senior Yoga. She is passionate about bringing yoga to anyone who wants to participate in the journey. She feels the benefits can transform you in more ways than you originally thought; no matter what path you are on or what stage of life you are in, yoga can change with you and give you what you need wherever you are. Janice is an RYT.
Kaye initially trained in Hatha Yoga and continued to pursue additional training in various styles of yoga with specialty training and studies with the senior population. Kaye has developed and teaches many specialty programs including Senior Yoga (both mat and chair-based), Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga, Water (Aqua) Yoga, and other yoga programs of various intensities. She respects the wisdom imparted by the ancient yogis while embracing the freethinking mindset that was a common trait in these great masters and continued her studies in Yoga Therapy to continue to help others heal with yoga. Kaye holds both RYPT (Registered Yoga Prenatal Teacher) and RYCT (Registered Yoga Children’s Teacher) certifications. She is also an E-RYT500 Yoga Therapist, registered with both Yoga Alliance and IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), co-owner of Yoga Legacy (an RYS200 Yoga School) and serves on the Yoga Alliance Advisory Group to the Standards Committee.
Mary Lou started taking yoga classes in the 1990s mainly to fight gravity. All the women in her family were short and got even shorter as they aged. She thought anything that would stretch her spine would be beneficial. She found that yoga gave her a lot more than good posture and, a week after retiring from IBM, she began Yoga Legacy’s RYT200 certification program. Mary Lou has certifications in Hot, Senior, and Chair Yoga; and really enjoys working with the over-50 crowd.
Pat has been a yoga practitioner for over 25 years with experience and training in most types of yoga, as well as Pilates and Barre. Pat has developed and teaches many specialty programs including Detox and Hot Formats, Yin, Yin/Yasa, Mommy & Baby, Chair, Senior, Water and a variety of Hatha and Vinyasa styles. Pat was drawn to yoga for the meditative aspect and mind body connection. She appreciates the flexibility of yoga, which allows for adaptation to each individual’s beliefs and lifestyle rather than changing the individual to suit yoga. Pat continued her studies in Yoga Therapy, as her passion is to help others heal with yoga. Pat holds both RYPT (Registered Yoga Prenatal Teacher) and RYCT (Registered Yoga Children’s Teacher) certifications.
