Can I register with Yoga Alliance after completing your program?
Yes, you may register with Yoga Alliance once you’ve completed the 245 hour Teacher Training Program and have a passing grade. As an RYS – Registered Yoga School – with the Yoga Alliance the student only needs to provide their Certificate to Yoga Alliance along with their application and fee to register. There are 180 hours for each program, how do I get the full 245 hours?
The 180 hours are contact (classroom) hours, time you spend with Yoga Legacy working toward your certification. The additional 65 hours are hours spent outside of the classroom training. These hours will be spent on research, writing papers, attending classes and reading.
What is the difference between taking the program as an intensive or one module at a time?
As an intensive, you will complete the entire program in a set amount of time and be able to register with Yoga Alliance once you are done. We realize that for some individuals this is not feasible due to various reasons. We offer the program in modules, so that a student who cannot attend an intensive, can complete their certification at their own pace. Once they have completed the 10 modules with a passing grade that make up the Core Program, they too will be able to register with Yoga Alliance.
Do you recognize any other programs as part of your program for certification?
No, you must take the program with Yoga Legacy from beginning to end to gain your 245 Certification from Yoga Legacy. If you began a program elsewhere, you would need to take Module 1 and then could take the modules that are necessary to complete your certification and then petition Yoga Alliance for the combined hours between 2 or more programs. The final decision would rest with Yoga Alliance on your registration qualifications.
Do you suggest registering with Yoga Alliance once the program is complete or is this even necessary?
Yes, we strongly suggest registering with Yoga Alliance as this organization is the worldwide recognized registration body for Yoga Teachers. Keeping a currentregistration with Yoga Alliance shows that you are a teacher who continually strives to keep up-to-date with continuing education throughout their career.
Do I need insurance once I start teaching?
Yes, Yoga Legacy LLC strongly suggests that each teacher obtain and maintain their insurance throughout their teaching career.
Will I need other certifications to teach?
Yes, you will need a CPR certification to teach at most locations and Yoga Legacy, LLC strongly suggests you receive this necessary training.
Does Yoga Legacy offer continuing education?
Yes, Yoga Legacy offers continuing education courses, offered in Modules. Specialty Modules are 9 hours, you are free to take whatever specialties are of interest to you for CEU’s. You are always able to repeat any part of the core program for CEU’s if you so desire.
Does Yoga Legacy offer payment plans?
Yes, Yoga Legacy, LLC offers a payment plan forall intensive programs. This plan allows the student to split the payment in half. The first half is due 30 days prior to the start of the first class. The second payment is due 30 days prior to the start of session 6 of the program. Special arrangements can be made for other plans on a case by case basis – these plans will have additional charges.
What is the latest I can register for a program?
You may register for a program 24 hours before the start of the program, however, this is provided there is space available. Once the maximum number of students for any program is reached, the program is closed until the next session. You will also be required to completed all prerequisites prior to the start of the program.
Do you need to register online with a credit card?

Will there be other training sites and dates available in the future?
Yes, we will be adding programs including 18 day intensives in the NC area, throughout the US and Europe in the future.
